Tedesco Names Courtois Best Goalkeeper In The World

Domenico Tedesco, coach of the Belgium national team, has said that he considers Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois to be the best in the world.

Standard quotes Tedesco as saying:

For me Courtois is the best goalkeeper in the world. But we also have other good goalkeepers.

Recall that in June this year Tedesco and Courtois had a conflict due to disagreements over the coaching staff's decision to give the captain's armband to Belgium forward Romelu Lukaku instead of the 31-year-old goalkeeper for the Euro 2024 qualifying match.

Courtois played 49 games for Real Madrid last season, conceding 49 goals and keeping 17 cleen sheets. His contract with the club runs until the end of June 2026, Transfermarkt website estimates the market value of the goalkeeper at €45 million.

This season, the 31-year-old Belgian has not played a single match after suffering an ACL tear at a training session.

Earlier, former Real Madrid and Spain goalkeeper Iker Casillas called the Belgian goalkeeper the best player in his position in the world at the moment.
