President of Japan's Rizin League Nobuyuki Sakakibara said he is in talks with former UFC middleweight champion, Brazilian fighter Anderson Silva.
Yes, we have spoken, but…you know, for us, if he has some ideas, and if we really want to do something, our doors are always open, we’re always here to listen. If things make sense, we’ll always put something together. One of our concepts that RIZIN has is to provide a platform for the legendary fighters to perform their final fight, to kind of show them the way out with respect. We could one day organize a fight for Anderson that will please the old-school fan.

Silva, 48, last fought in mixed martial arts in October 2020 at UFC Fight Night 181, losing to Uriah Hall by technical knockout in the fourth round. In November 2020, Silva announced his retirement from MMA and has since fought several fights in the boxing ring. He has 34 wins and 11 losses on his record.
