Brazilian UFC lightweight Rafael dos Anjos responded to a question about a potential fight with Russian lightweight champion Islam Makhachev.
We had a chance to fight at welterweight, he volunteered first, I agreed and he refused, and as a result the fight was taken by Renato Moicano. We could have closed the issue and fought at welterweight or lightweight, but I won't be too upset if that fight never happens.

Recall, Rafael dos Anjos will hold his next fight in the welterweight division against American Bryan Barberena. The fight will take place on December 3 at the UFC on ESPN 42 tournament.
Dos Anjos, 38, last competed at UFC on ESPN 39 in July of 2022, losing to Rafael Fiziev by TKO in the fifth round. At UFC 272 in March of this year, he defeated Renato Moicano by unanimous decision. Dos Anjos has 31 wins and 14 losses under his belt.
