It was announced on October 10 that the final round of the 2024 Davis Cup, taking place in Malaga from November 19 to 24, will mark the end of Nadal's career as the "King of Clay." On November 19, Nadal lost in the quarterfinal match to Botic van de Zandschulp from the Netherlands, with a score of 4-6, 4-6, after one hour and fifty minutes of play.

Previously, on his social media page, Federer sent a letter to Nadal after his decision to end his professional career, stating that the Spaniard made the entire tennis world proud.
