Memphis Grizzlies vs Golden State Warriors Prediction: Road strugglers Warriors take on sliding Memphis

The NBA Regular Season is in full flow and we are heading towards the most important part of the season. The Postseason is barely a month away and we are into a sphere where teams are looking for a final push to cement their positions, especially those which are interested in the Play-in or Playoffs positions. One such team, the Golden State Warriors which will take on the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Warriors slide into this game after losing 128;137 against the Thunder despite a herculean 40 points performance by Stephen Curry. They have now lost two in a row and this undermined their five-game winning streak. Unsurprisingly, the trail of wins was at home and the losses have been away from home. They are on a seven-game losing streak away from home and their record of 25 losses and seven wins there says it all. Because of that, even a brilliant home performance has only enable the defending champions to fetch 34 wins and 32 losses. Things haven’t changed for Warriors away from home even when Curry has been active. 

The Grizzlies come into this game after a 103:112 against the Lakers despite a 26 points performance by Jaren Jackson Jr. This was the third straight loss for the Grizzlies and they have lost 11 of their last 12 games away from home and even the win came against a struggling Rockets outfit. Memphis has lost their grip on the second spot and ever since losing their leading rebounder Steven Adams, their effort has lacked. They had 31 wins and 13 losses at one point but have 13 losses and just seven wins since then. Ja Morant’s serious off-the-court troubles have also thwarted the Grizzlies’ push for the title.

• Warriors: OUT: Gary Payton II, Ryan Rollins, Andrew Wiggins. PROBABLE: Jonathan Kuminga, Kevon Looney, Andre Iguodala.

The Grizzlies have been doing well at home whereas Warriors are one of the worst teams on the road. It means that the work is cut out for the Warriors and even though Morant is not playing for memphis, the Warriors can’t consider this game as an automatic win. However despite their terrible road play, I back Golden State to break the curse here. I predict a scoreline of 127:120 in favor of Golden State Warriors.
