San Antonio Spurs vs Los Angeles Clippers Prediction: Rebuilding Spurs tackle starved Clippers

The NBA midseason has been on and we are so close to the trade deadline that our feeds can blow up with big names being traded. There are various teams that need to bolster their depth as we head deeper and this challenging window is met with intense lineup shuffles, turning the league upside down. Anyway, in this NBA affair, the San Antonio Spurs are going to take on the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Spurs come into this game after a rare triumph as they overcame a short-handed Brooklyn Nets 106:98. The win broke a five-game losing streak and San Antonio had suffered an 11-game losing streak earlier and they have only won 14 while losing 31 games. This result is barely surprising for a team that is full of young players and role players, lacking a lineup that can generate big outputs against elite units. An injury to their one of the top-two scorers Devin Vassell has caused further fluctuations. The Spurs are heading to the lottery which won’t disappoint the fans.

The Clippers enter the game after losing 103:126 against the Jazz despite a 30 points performance by Norman Powell. This was the second straight loss for the team and they have now lost nine of their last 11 games due to which they have been reduced to 24 losses and 23 wins. The issue is the same as last year but now the face is flipped. Kawhi Leonard and Paul George haven’t shared the floor regularly again and while Leonard missed all of the last season, George is missing a major chunk this season. The veteran unit has been unable to find any spark on the offensive end and at this point, the Clippers need a reboot, meaning some trades are due.

The Clippers have been one of the biggest disappointments this season and after being an elite defense earlier in the season, lately, their defense has lost the zip due to their offensive struggles. For the Spurs, both ends are a lost cause at this point and they are heading for a lottery season, something which looks planned at this point. I believe the Clippers will have a big night here. I predict a 119:109 win for them.
