Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia Prediction: Another Blogger Against Experienced Champ

The WBC super lightweight title fight between champion Devin Haynie and challenger Ryan Garcia will occur in Las Vegas on April 21st. The boxers have previously met six times in the amateur ring, with an equal score in their face-to-face confrontation. 

Haney won the interim WBC lightweight belt in 2019 after defeating Zaur Abdullayev. After achieving full status, Devin fought George Kambosos in June 2022 and won the WBA, IBF, WBO, and ring belts, becoming the overall champion. Due to a rematch clause, Haney had to fight Cambosos again, and he beat him up for the second time in a row. Haney's victory over Vasiliy Lomachenko was highly controversial due to the judges' decision. Haney won dominantly in his most recent bout by making a unanimous decision over Regis Prograis.

In 2021, Ryan Garcia defeated Luke Campbell to win the interim WBC lightweight title. However, he was unable to capitalize on this success due to injuries and personal issues, including struggles with mental health. Garcia later suffered a knockout loss to Gervonta Davis in a pay-per-view fight. In his most recent bout, he knocked out Oscar Duarte.

While some have labeled him a 'social media fighter,' this is only partially true. Although Ryan has a large following, he has yet to achieve significant victories. Some may find his life interesting, but his behavior often raises questions. 

Ryan is overrated, failing his only fight against top competition without trying. He is more of a media personality than a champion. Devin Haney's defense will absorb Garcia's hard punches, and Ryan will likely tire in the championship rounds. While a knockout is possible, it is a riskier bet.
