Joe Joyce is a well-known British boxer. He was a silver medallist at the 2016 Olympic Games, and in the pros, he has won all his victories (except one) by knockout. Even more recently, Joyce was the WBO champion in 2023, but he lost the belt in a fight with Zhilei Zhang (by knockout) and was knocked out again in the rematch.

Derek Chisora has never held a major title, but he is well-known to boxing fans. Tyson Fury, Vitali Klitschko, Dillian Whyte, and Alexander Usik were his opponents. He beat Gerald Washington (20-5-1) on points in his last fight.

It's not entirely clear what the organizers had in mind when they made this fight.
