Heroic vs OG Prediction: One of Them Will Make a Sensation

Heroic is the best team in South America right now. ESL One Birmingham 2024 is another chance for them to raise their international status and become a tier-1 team. After the first day, it looks like the Heroes are determined to make the playoffs of an event for the first time. The wins against Xtreme Gaming (2:0) and the draw with Team Spirit (1:1) have the South Americans dreaming of at least making the lower bracket. If Heroic keeps playing like they did on the first day, there's even a chance of making the top grid. The team leader, 4nalog, seems to be a strong player. He's currently at the top of the KDA rankings (11.4) and in the top 5 for kills per map (10.2). 

No one expected Heroic to have good midgame movement. In the games with Team Spirit, the South Americans had the initiative in the first twenty minutes on every map. The first match ended in a convincing victory, but in the second match, Heroic didn't finish Slardar's trick, and from that moment, the turnaround began. 

But we can't forget about the previous tournaments. Heroic also started the tier-1 tournaments with a positive attitude, but they lost their momentum midway through the group stage. This is a common issue for South American teams, and Heroic is working on it. If the K1 squad doesn't lose their skills overnight, they might be able to compete with OG.

The team got to ESL One Birmingham 2024 by accident, but they're trying to prove to everyone that the organizers made this choice for a reason. OG has a 3-1 win-loss record, having outplayed Xtreme Gaming (2-0) in BO2 and drawing with Tundra Esports (1-1). If they defeat Heroic, the team will be in a strong position in Group B and will likely make it to the top set of playoffs. 

Timado seems like a great addition to OG. The Peruvian isn't officially a permanent player yet, but he's already proving to be a valuable asset to the team. Against Xtreme Gaming, the carry was quick to gain peak power. Ari is also motivated to play for the British fans. He'll earn Marci's respect-ban from his opponents quite soon. Ceb is gradually adapting strategies for his teammates. He's trying to give signature characters to Bzm and Wisper so they can feel more comfortable in the game's early stages.

OG came close to making the playoffs and the top four at DreamLeague Season 22. At Elite League, the team was also close to the playoffs but unexpectedly faltered in a match against Team Spirit, who were generally underwhelming at that tournament. Now, OG is close to the playoffs again, and they need a win over Heroic to secure a spot in the bottom four.

We wish Heroic could stay longer and snatch at least one point in this series. But we think that OG is in perfect shape right now, and Timado's transition could take the team to a full-fledged tier-1 level. Ceb will do whatever it takes to end BO2 with a convincing win.
