Infamous vs beastcoast: beastcoast will take revenge on Infamous

The final round of the first DPC league of the 2021/22 season in South America kicks off on Friday, February 11. Infamous and beastcoast will meet in the first round of the playoffs.

DPC SA 2021/22 Tour 1: Regional Finals is an online Dota 2 tournament that will take place from February 11 to 13, 2022. This tournament has been organized by Valve in each region instead of the majors that were supposed to be held in some country in the world on these dates. A prize of $100,000 and 380 extra Pro Circuit Points will be awarded to the top four teams in the first DPC league.

Infamous is a consistent mid-tier of the South American pro scene. The guys are in the elite division all the time, they are not relegated, but they could not go to the majors yet. However, the result of the first DPC league in 2022 was amazing because Infamous was the second team in a long time in the region and should have gone to the majors, it was cancelled. Remarkably, Infamous finished higher in the regular season than the South American region's main favourite beastcoast. But it should be understood that Infamous continued to finish the league normally after the news of the international cancellation. At the same time, beastcoast began to lose to everyone, including the main outsiders.

Infamous has had a lot of changes since the closed qualifiers for TI10, with every position filled in, but the squad has matured and produced a great result for itself, which the boys will try to show in this Supplementary Final as well. The opponent is not the easiest, and it is unlikely that they will still be as strong as they were at the end of this DPC league.

The region leader stalled at the end of the first DPC league, but that's no surprise. Valve cancelled the majors, and fighting in the league became drastically irrelevant for guys who don't particularly like to exert themselves within their region, with only thoughts of internationals on their minds. The suddenly formed DPC finals of regional leagues should interest the beastcoast players, not so much in extra prize money as in DPC points, which may bring the guys closer to TI11, especially after only a 3rd line DPC league. However, there are still two such leagues ahead...

The beastcoast team has continued to play in the same line-up since 2019. The change wasn't triggered by poor play at TI10, although they were the best team in the region at that tournament, getting at least into the playoff stage. Superbly, the boys continue to play their region in the new DPC cycle.

Wins over Hokori (2-0), Lava (2-0), and APU King of Kings (2-0) make the beastcoast team the leader of the standings, and there was little doubt that this team would get their ticket to the majors, but without a major on the horizon and the play of this squad disappeared somewhere. beastcoast already "flew" past the majors. It is a Singapore tournament that the first DPC League 2021 champions missed due to covid problems. Pandemic was not an issue at the Kyiv majors.

Looking at all the teams in South America, it's hard to imagine who can stand up to beastcoast when they're motivated and not trying to experiment with draft picks. In general, nothing in this region changes in the balance of power.

The jokes are over; beastcoast will start these finals with a solid victory with a handicap (-1.5) on the maps; the odds on that are 2.90.

On the first map, the beastcoast team will win with a handicap (-3.5) kills; the odds on that are 1.77.

The South American teams will be traditionally happy with a lot of kills. On the second map, I suggest taking Total Over 53.5 kills for 1.83.
