T1 vs Motivate.Trust Gaming: Region favourite to win again

South-East Asia’s first DPC league of the 2021/22 season continues on Wednesday, December 15. T1 and Motivate.Trust Gaming will meet in the first match of the day for the elite division.

DPC SEA 2021/22 Tour 1: Division I is an online Dota 2 tournament from December 01, 2021, to January 22, 2022. The top eight teams from the SEA region will battle it out for $205,000. On top of the cash prizes, the teams will also fight for three entries to the majors and the crucial DPC points needed to qualify for T11.

T1 got their new season off to a flying start, as evidenced by their performance in the first two weeks of the DPC league. In the first contest, they were beaten 2-0 by TNC. In the second contest, TI10 was opposed by SMG, who are now well on their way to the elite but not good enough for T1. Another 2-0 win and the lead on par with BOOM.

The T1 team did well for themselves last season. They qualified for TI10, earned a million dollars, and finished 7-9 in the year’s main tournament. All the top achievements of the organization are connected with LoL, but now there was some progress in Dota 2.

The squad is fully intact, and why change anything when 23savage is dragging, and everyone is successfully helping him with it. The T1 squad is the reigning champion of the Asian DPC league and a participant in The International 10, which is already the highest achievement for this Korean organization in Dota 2. 23savage has finally found his team. It is ready to take on the Asian DPC scene and the world. This team is the main favorite in SEA in the new season, but it is important to keep winning.

Now the opponent is inferior in class, so it is worth winning confidently and going into the break in a good mood.

MTG, debutants in the elite division, started the new DPC cycle with wins over TNC (2-0) and Execration (2-0). These teams are their immediate and close opponents, but the boys proved that they are ready to go head-to-head here and now. Already at the end of the first league game week, I can safely state the fact that MTG here will not fight for survival, and whether they will fight for a slot in the major, demonstrated just the game with SMG, which the guys still lost, showing that not yet ready to compete with more experienced and star teams. If passing SMG was difficult, given their unconventional and unreliable picks, then beating T1 would be unrealistic.

Motivate.Trust Gaming is one of the most interesting Asian teams, which from the bottom could break even at Int, given their results at the beginning of the last summer of 2021. Still, in the end, failed to qualify at Int, the team also failed last summer tournament series BTS, it is about the 7th season (6th place). Still, in season 8 guys managed to enter the top three winners, namely finishing the tournament in 3rd place.

The main star of the squad is JaCkky, who joined the squad from T1 in March after upping his MMR to 12K. The guy from Laos has shown an unbelievable game, blowing everyone by farming speed and button-pushing on his heroes.

The squad hasn’t changed since the summer. The guys are showing up well at Tier-4 tournaments: Moon Studio Asian Tigers and PNX Invitational, which was a great warm-up before the ninth season of BTS and, of course, before the upcoming new DPC season. The BTS boys finished in 3rd place and approached the DPC in as good a shape as possible.

I don’t see any opponents for T1 in SEA yet, except perhaps BOOM, but Motivate.Trust Gaming is a head below their level of play, and two weeks of the new DPC league has proved that a handicap 1 (-1.5 ) on maps for 1.85 is a great option to bet on.
