Friday night, June 17, sees the continuation of week two of the South American DPC regional Dota 2 tour 3. Tempest and Infinity will kick off the regular game day.

DPC SA 2021/2022 Tour 3: Division I is an online Dota 2 tournament that will run from June 10 to July 15, 2022. The eight strongest teams in the South American region will compete for $205,000. In addition to the cash prizes, the teams will compete for two tickets to the majors and the important DPC points needed to qualify for T11.

Tempest: A team with character

Tempest is a newcomer to the South American region, replacing the defunct Lava squad. It's a shame to lose such a squad as the boys managed to finish fourth in the elite division of the regional DPC spring league. Tempest got the right to play in the elite division instead of Lava, but the new squad is far from the same! Only the first position carry Mnz, and the five Mjz have moved from Lava. These Peruvian players are experienced and will be key in the new squad's playing plan. I should also mention the Ecuadorian four sl4d1n-, who has transferred to this squad from Infamous. Sebas and DrakenN are, for me, generally new guys who came from some tier-3 teams, and it's difficult to evaluate their performance objectively now.

If we evaluate Tempest's prospects in the summer tour, they shouldn't fly out, some experienced guys should be in 6th place, and just the game with Brazilians from Wolf Team (2-0) was indicative. The first map was won on such a moral will that you can't even believe how the Brazilians could have given it away. The second map was overplayed, underlining that Tempest's players are far from being whipping boys.

Infinity: Trying to claw your way to victory

Infinity (formerly known as Infinity Esports) is a Costa Rican eSports organization that was founded in 2009. It entered the Dota 2 competitive scene in April 2020.

This is Infinity's second DPC cycle, but so far, the team is no great shakes in the South American region. Last season they won the second division and lost the second round in the elite, falling back into the second tier while failing to qualify for TI10. Failing qualifications is a harsh word, considering the boys came third. Still, only the winner went to the year's main tournament, so everyone else is a failure at these qualifications.

In the 2021/22 DPC cycle, the team started again with a victory in the second division. In the second round of the spring, the boys coped with the team-leader problem, remaining in the elite by finishing sixth in the top eight teams in South America. In May 2022, Infinity had another replacement in the first position: Lumière, the former Infamous player, took over the starting line-up, while the new starting four was Genek, who had moved from not the top team Gorillaz-Pride.

The team kicked off this summer's tour with a match against beastcoast (0-2). The favorite, as expected, easily defeated Infinity, but the Tempest squad is far from the top flight, so there is a chance of picking up at least a map or even the entire series.

Expert Betting Tips

The teams will show a close confrontation, so I expect three maps, so I recommend taking a bet on Total Over 2.5 maps for 2.01.

I expect a big number of frags on the first map, so Total Over 51.5 for 1.70.

Tempest, in general, should win this series, but to catch tasty odds, I suggest taking the correct score of 2:1 for 3.20.
