Natus Vincere beat Team Liquid 2:0 in the opening game of Champions 2023, which was a real sensation on the first game day of the tournament. Still, the EMEA region champions had already left the championship, so it was more Team Liquid players out of shape rather than the NaVi roster performing some miracle.

The trio of SUYGETSU, cNed, and Zyppan brought a lot of value in the opening game. SUYGETSU showed the maximum team rating, but ANGE1 is also worth mentioning. The Ukrainian team was also close to success at DRX in the first battle for a place in the playoff stage. The series with the Korean team ended 2:1 in favor of the DRX players, but this series showed that the current Natus Vincere is not in the same shape as at the failed Masters: Tokyo.

Despite LOUD and Team Liquid winning their regional VCT leagues, both left the Masters: Tokyo tournament disappointed. But the teams planned to do better at Champions 2023. LOUD and Team Liquid looked like favorites in their first World Championship games against DRX and NAVI, respectively. Still, they suffered losses and were among the teams heading into the first elimination match at Champions.

Before the event, there was a lot of doubt about the LOUD team's choice of agents. However, on Map 1, LOUD players dominated Team Liquid with a quick 13:2 victory on the Haven map using the Harbor-Viper combo.

LOUD's defense was particularly impressive. The second map wasn't much tougher, especially in the second half. LOUD showed that they are not doing as bad as Team Liquid, but NaVi knows how to prepare for their opponents, and the Brazilians should expect an incredible fight for survival today.

The match between Natus Vincere and LOUD will be the main match on this game day and for the whole end of the group stage. We should expect three cards and tight games with extra rounds.
