The Bergamaschi are on an eight-match winning streak. Even though Gian Piero Gasperini's side is playing in the Champions League, that has not stopped them from winning the Italian championship. In the previous round, Atalanta defeated Roma 2:0 on the road with two second-half goals from De Ron and Zagnolo. The win lifted Bergamo to second place in Serie A, just one point behind leaders Napoli.
Atalanta are also doing well in the Champions League. In the last round, the Bergamaschi defeated Swiss side Young Boys 6:1 away from home. Atalanta's young stars Retegui and De Ketelare both scored a brace. Kolasanac and Samardzic scored once apiece. Gasperini's charges play their next Champions League game at home to Real Madrid next Tuesday. After five rounds, Atalanta is fifth in the standings out of 36 teams - three wins, two draws, no losses, and a goal difference of 11:1.
Milan
The Rossoneri played their last game last Tuesday. Paulo Fonseca's side was at home to Serie B leaders Sassuolo, who, for some reason, brought a reserve team to the San Siro. Milan took advantage of their opponents' substitutions to put the game beyond doubt midway through the first half. By the 23rd minute, the Rossoneri had taken a 4:0 lead and eventually ran out 6:1 winners.
Milan also cruised to victory in the last round of the Italian championship, beating Empoli 3:0 at home. The Blues have had one of the best defensive records in Serie A this season, but Fonseca's men scored twice in the first half and doubled their advantage in the second.
Milan's next Champions League game is at home to Crvena Zvezda next Wednesday. The Rossoneri beat Slovan 3:2 on the road last time to move up to 16th in the standings, just one point off the top 8.
Expert Betting Tips
Milan has won three games in a row, but their opponents have yet to be of the highest caliber - Slovan Bratislava, Empoli, and Sassuolo's second team. Atalanta's six-match winning streak has seen them take on the likes of Napoli, Roma, and Stuttgart. Bergamaschi's streak could be extended at the end of the upcoming match, and Milan's, on the contrary, could be interrupted. We are betting on the hosts to win and for goals to be scored - Atalanta has been one of the top teams this season.
