Orlando Pirates vs Cape Town City Prediction: The Buccaneers will advance to the next round

Following their (1-1) stalemate on the road against a solid Cape Town City, Orlando Pirates will be keen to take advantage of their home support to see off their opponent at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday. 

The Buccaneers march here with a below-par performance against Cape Town City as they settled for a share of the spoils on the road. Despite scoring first, Orlando Pirates were outplayed by the Citizens, who could have won the game. 

Orlando Pirates advanced to this round after their (3-1) victory over Supersport United on their ground. After the match, Jose Riveiro's men went ahead to win once and drew a game against CS DFC in the CAF Champions League qualifying round.

It was an excellent start for Eric Tinkler's men, who had lost their most valuable player to CR Belouizdad in recent weeks. 

Cape Town City had a poor ending in their previous league campaign, as they finished below the top four for the first time in four years. Cape Town City, tied on points with fourth-place Sekhukhune United, couldn't make it to the continental tournament.

The Citizens were the winner of the MTN 8 Cup in 2018, with a runner-up finish in 2017 and 2021. 

Over their previous nineteen meetings, Cape Town City have won four while Orlando Pirates have recorded six wins and nine games ending in a tie. 

The reverse leg was a good game to watch, however, it was Cape Town City who dominated the game. Orlando Pirates were overrun in the middle of the pitch and were lucky to have shared the spoils.

It’s going to be a different ball game at the Orlando Stadium, and we think the Buccaneers will advance to the next round.
