Rijeka vs Sibenik Prediction: Sibenik are tricky opponent

In the 7th round of the SuperSport HNL, Rijeka will host Sibenik at their Rujevica stadium on Sunday from 21:00. The team led by Mario Carevic is certainly the most pleasant surprise of this season's championship, after six rounds played, the boys from Subicevac already have a double-digit number of points, exactly ten, with the current fourth place in the first league standings. However, this does not change anything when it comes to the ambitions of Rijeka and the manager Radomir Djalovic, especially in the duel they are playing in front of their fans.

Rijeka are not 1st placed in the table by chance, they have been playing fast, modern football for years, especially at Rujevica, where is probably the fastest surface in all Croatian football stadiums. Rijeka suffered a disaster in European matches, but in the domestic league, they are doing well. Currently in 1st place, with 14 points, 4 wins, 2 draws, 12 goals scored and only one conceded, this team will once again be one of the biggest favorites for the title. This season they are still undefeated at home in all competitions, and in the last round, they played a draw against the champions Dinamo in this stadium.

In the last two league games, Sibenik lost (Gorica) and drew (Varazdin), and now awaits a visit to the leader of the HNL, Rijeka. Not exactly an ideal match to return to winning ways, but this team is doing much better than expected. They were seen as main candidates for relegation, and nobody gave them much chance of winning points in all those matches they won or drew. They stick to their game, as they were playing in the second division last season, offensively, brave and it’s good for them.

I think we can expect an interesting encounter, fast football and goals in this match. Even though in their last 5 matches only 2 matches ended with over 2.5 goals, now both teams have different managers and approach to the matches. I think that Rijeka however are more quality team and playing at home is their strength, so I believe that they will win against Sibenik and we will see more than 3 goals in the match.
