Young Lions vs Tanjong Pagar Prediction: We expect a great start from the visitors

After claiming their first three points of the season, Young Lions will face off against Tanjong Pagar at the Jalan Besar Stadium on Saturday for a back-to-back win. Both teams have been terrible this season, but the hosts stand a better chance.

After a year and some months, Young Lions secured their first victory in the league. Since March last year, Young Lions came from a (1-2) down with ten men to ensure (3-2) victory over Albirex Niigata. The win ended their twenty-five matches without a breakthrough in the league. 

They have conceded fourteen times in just four matches as they sit at the bottom of the log. Young Lions head here with a (7-1) defeat against Geylang International. Young Lions, who finished at the bottom of the log for three consecutive seasons, will be keen to turn their fortunes around.

The Jaguars struggled against Tampines Rovers as they were beaten (3-0) by their opponent. They were pretty good defensively, but Tampines Rovers were just direct. The result came after their below-par performance in their opening game against Balestier Central, which saw them lose (0-5), and a (1-1) stalemate against Hougang United. 

Tanjong Pagar have started this campaign with their usual momentum, and nothing seems to have changed about them. 

Tanjong Pagar picked up twenty-one points from a possible seventy-two, ending in the bottom two of the SPL last season. They conceded sixty-two times while scoring thirty-nine times. Tanjong's major problem was their defense, as they conceded more than a goal over their last eleven games. Tanjong Pagar has strengthened their squad after a below-par season; unfortunately, we can see them challenge for the SPL title this season. 

Over their previous twenty meetings, Tanjong Pagar have won thirteen games while Young Lions have managed five wins and two games ending in a tie. The hosts' recent win was against a very terrible side, and two of their goals were as a result of their opponent's lapses. At the same, Tanjong Pagar defended so well against Tampines Rovers even though they lost by three goals. 

We can’t underestimate the guests, even if they have had a terrible start to the season. Tanjong Pagar are the favorite here, and we think they’ll get a win or draw and BTTS here for 2.11.
