France vs Poland Prediction: Poland’s Euro hopes will come to an end

The final Euro 2024 group game for France and Poland will occur at Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund. France will look to end the group at the top of the standings, while Poland eyes a third-place finish at least. How will this game end? I will examine these teams' performances and give possible betting opportunities in the following characteristics. 

France will eye a win in this game after being held to a goalless draw by the Netherlands in game 2. However, France has not lived up to the hype compared with what we expected from this team ahead of this Euro. Yet, this team sits at the Group D standings with four points. 

France has an unbeaten run of five games ahead of this game, defeating Chile, Luxembourg, and Austria while they drew Canada. Also, France will top the group if they win, and the Netherlands do not. Still, if Les Bleus and the Dutch both win or both draw, they will be split for first and second place by goal difference, then goals scored, then disciplinary points and then the European Qualifier rankings, in which France ranks higher.

Poland is one of the disappointing sides in this Euro 2024, and without a doubt, they will have much to do if they want something in this final group game encounter. Poland saw a lead overturned in their opener against the Netherlands, losing 1-2 at the end. 

However, Austria dominated Poland in their game 2, with Krzysztof Piatek scoring the lone goal for Poland in a match that ended 1-3. With those poor results, Poland is seated in the bottom spot of Group D standings with zero points to show. 

Pre-match facts show that Poland had reached the quarterfinals of a Euro or World Cup tournament since 1986 when it was at the 2016 European Championship in France. In fact, Poland has qualified for the Euros in the last five editions and has exited at the group stage on four of these occasions.

However, Poland has just been too weak in this tournament, and following their result against Austria, it is tough to expect any exceptional performance from them against France. While there are questions about whether Didier Deschamps will have Kylian Mbappe in his squad in this final group game encounter, France still does have enough quality on both ends of the field to win this game. While Poland has been poor defensively, we could expect goals here too.
