Roma vs Sheriff Prediction: Pragmatic and goal-oriented game

Roma made a disastrous start to the current Serie A campaign, winning just one game in the first six rounds, but what a win it was: a 7:0 home thrashing of Empoli. However, they have started to pick up points. They have not conceded in their last five games, although they came close last weekend when they realized two penalties and finished with a 1:1 draw by Fiorentina. They are now fourth in the standings. They made an impressive debut in the Europa League, winning three games in a row, but a 2:0 defeat to Slavia and a 1:1 draw with Servette left Jose Mourinho's side second in the G-group.

Sheriff continues to dominate, winning one Moldovan championship after another. They are also in fine form in the current national championship, having collected 34 points from a possible 42 in 14 games to be at the top of the standings, six points from their nearest rivals. At the same time, they have failed to make their mark on the international stage. In their five previous outings, Roman Pilipchuk's men managed just one point, a 1:1 draw with Servette, and lost their other four matches by a combined score of 4:13. Those results meant the Moldovans finished bottom of Group G.

Today's Sheriffs differ from the team that beat Real Madrid in the Champions League at the Santiago Bernabeu a few years ago. Unfortunately, the Moldovans are performing poorly: after five rounds, they have one point and have lost all chance of qualifying for the European spring. The situation is different for the Romans, who have already qualified for the playoffs but are still second in Group G and in danger of going to the round of 32 of the tournament, which they do not want.
