Magomed Ankalaev vs Johnny Walker Prediction: Judges to Side with the Russian Fighter

On October 21st, Abu Dhabi will host the long-awaited UFC 294 tournament. We present the prediction for the fight between Magomed Ankalaev and Johnny Walker. The bout will take place in the light heavyweight division. Ankalaev is ranked second in the division, while Walker is seventh.

Ankalaev is technically more interesting, but his functionality gives the impression that he should have practiced more. One gets the feeling that Ankalaev is way too cautious. Despite that, his technique, sensibility, and distance are impressive. 

Walker is a fascinating character. He was expected to become a champion when he joined the UFC. Something went wrong, and he suffered four losses. Then Johnny improved and defeated some top fighters. TV makes everybody big, while Walker is actually enormous. So, he might feel uncomfortable and unconventional in his movements, but still quite dangerous. Although Walker has had knockout losses and sometimes can't take a punch, he's improving in the process and is a very inconvenient opponent for Magomed.

Walker's wrestling isn't as dangerous as it seems, but we're paying attention to him in standing. Ankalaev's camp will take it into account. He has a higher fight IQ, and his stamina shouldn't be a problem. So, we expect a tough fight with a complete three rounds. The judges will decide the fight from here on, and Ankalaev might be their choice.
