Saracens vs Gloucester Prediction: Hosts expected to take maximum points

StoneX Stadium, Saracens, will host this Premiership Rugby League game between Saracens and Gloucester. Ahead of this game, the hosts' recent games ended in defeats, while Gloucester made it to the semis of the Challenge Cup last weekend. 

Saracens are off a defeat over Bordeaux Begles, a 45-12 encounter in the European Champions Cup, which saw them eliminated from the competition. However, the hosts prior league game to that defeat also ended in a 41-30 loss to Northampton Saints. In the meantime, Saracens had a run of three successive wins in games before those losses. Saracens defeated Lyon, Exeter Chiefs, and Harlequins in that run. Ahead of this game, Saracens are seated third in the league standings with 42 points, seven points adrift of placed Northampton Saints.

Despite their poor league performances, Gloucester have been a tough and top team in European competition. In their last game, Gloucester took on Ospreys, and they booked their semifinal spot with a 23-13 win. However, that win followed a 30-25 win over Castes Olympique in the round ⅛. In the meantime, Gloucester league's last game saw them lose to Bristol at home, a 24-33 defeat. Ahead of this game, the visitors are seated 9th out of 10 teams in the Premiership Rugby League.

Gloucester have never been too poor in this fixture compared to the last time they faced Saracens. While the visitors are starting to get to their best following impressive back-to-back strong performances, I am not actually in support of backing Saracens, looking at the difference in odds here. Rather, I feel this will be a tight game, and both sides will rather rely on defensive play, with visiting Gloucester covering the gap.
