Who Will Be the Next Leicester City Manager? Potter, Moyes, and Van Nistelrooy Lead in Betting World

Former Leicester City manager Steve Copper becomes the second Premier League manager in the new campaign to be sacked after the Foxes hierarchy was left unconvinced about the player's performances or the manager's ability to lead them to safety in the Premier League this season. Cooper's managerial tenure at the club ended after only 15 matches across all competitions. The club decision came following the Foxes' 2-1 Premier League loss at home to Chelsea, but let's take a look at the candidates the Foxes can replace the Welsh manager with, with Graham Potter leading in the betting world.

Top Three Potential Replacements for Steve Cooper in Leicester Dugout

Graham Potter

The former Chelsea boss Graham Potter has been considered the frontrunner among the candidates to take over at the King Power Stadium. Potter is currently available, as the manager has been out of work since after being sacked six months in charge of Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge club. Potter was one of the highly rated Premier League coaches during his spell at Brighton, getting the team to play in a more expansive fashion. His great Premier League experience as a manager could have a big impact on landing the Leicester City job. In his Premier League managerial career, Potter had a total of 142 appearances for the club, where he won a total of 41 wins, 51 draws, and 50 losses. His age aligns well with Leicester's ambition of looking for a long-term, stable, and growing manager. He was considered a summer replacement when Enzo Maresca left for Chelsea, and it will make sense if they go back for the English manager.

David Moyes

Former West Ham boss David Moyes is considered the second perfect man for the Leicester managerial vacant job. The Scottish manager has been out of a job since leaving the Hammers at the end of last season, so he might have the chance to prove himself as a manager in the Premier League and would offer plenty of experience in terms of steering teams away from relegation. Moyes has an extensive record in the Premier League, having managed Everton, Manchester United, Sunderland, and West Ham. During his spell at West Ham in 2017, Moyes guided the Hammers out of the relegation zone to a 13th-place finish but left at the end of the season when his contract was not renewed. During his second stint, West Ham achieved two consecutive top-seven finishes in the Premier League before victory in the 2022–23 UEFA Europa Conference League, beating Fiorentina in the final to achieve the club's first major silverware in 43 years.

Ruud van Nistelrooy

Ruud Van Nistelrooy is considered the third favorite to land a West Ham United job after an impressive brief stint as interim boss following Erik ten Hag's dismissal. The greatest Premier League striker in history is well known by Leicester City fans as the manager during his short interim spell at Manchester United, with the Dutch manager's instincts defeating in both the Carabao Cup and the Premier League. His appointment in the Foxes' dugout would be risky, considering his relative managerial experience
