Former pound-for-pound leader and four-division world champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez shared what he told Edgar Berlanga during their fight.
Alvarez revealed in an interview with the YouTube channel iFL TV:
I say to him(Edgar Berlanga) in the 9th round.. ‘You hit like my son’….he thinks he hits harder.
Berlanga lost to Canelo by unanimous decision (117-110, 118-109 twice) in their bout for the WBA, WBC, and WBO titles in the super middleweight division. Alvarez’s last fight was in May 2024, where he won against Jaime Munguia by unanimous decision. He has a record of 62 wins (39 by knockout), two losses, and two draws.
