Bivol Demands Immediate Rematch with Beterbiev and Inspection of Judge's Work

Former WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol has called for an immediate rematch against his compatriot Artur Beterbiev. Moreover, Bivol's team has requested an investigation into the performance of one of the judges from their recent fight.

Bivol's team stated to TASS:

The appeal clearly states the need for an immediate rematch as well as a review of the judge who scored the fight 116-112. A letter of appeal has been sent to the WBA, WBC, IBF, and WBO. Media publications reflecting public reaction to the fight's outcome have also been included.

Recall that on October 12 in Saudi Arabia, Beterbiev defeated Bivol by decision (114-114, 115-113, 116-112).

Beterbiev last fought in January 2024, winning against Callum Smith by technical knockout in the seventh round. He now has a record of 21 wins (20 by knockout) and no losses.

Bivol last stepped into the ring in June 2024, defeating Malik Zinad by technical knockout in the sixth round. His record stands at 23 wins (12 by knockout) and one loss.
