Ngannou Says He Reached Verbal Agreement with Wilder to Fight in Africa

Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou has revealed that he has been in talks with former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua and former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder, about fighting in Africa.

Francis Ngannou in an interview with ESPN
I consider any opponent. I talked to Eddie Hearn about Anthony Joshua, I don't know where it’s going to go. Most of all, I discussed it with Deontay. We’ve been having some exchanges. We’ve basically come into some sort of verbal agreement that we want to fight each other. We want two fights. Maybe one of those fights in Africa, maybe two of them in Africa.

Deontay Wilder, 37, last stepped into the ring against Finnish boxer Robert Helenius on October 15, 2022. Wilder won the fight via KO. He has 43 wins (42 by knockout) and two losses.

Ngannou, 36, fought in January, 2022, against Ciryl Gane of France. The fight was the main event of UFC 270. In that fight, Francis won by unanimous decision of the judges. He has 17 wins and three losses under his belt in mixed martial arts.
