American boxer Rolando Romero fought for the vacant WBA super lightweight champion title against Venezuelan representative Ismael Barroso on the night of May 14 in the United States.
The fight, which was stopped in the ninth round, ended in Romero's favor by TKO. So, he won the WBA belt.
Romero stepped into the ring last May against Gervonta Davis. That fight, which was stopped in the sixth round, ended in Rolando's defeat by TKO. He now has 15 wins (13 by KO) and one defeat. Barroso now has 24 wins (22 by knockout), four losses and two draws.
