Takuma Inoue Defends WBA Bantamweight Title

On May 6 in Tokyo, Japan, a bout between WBA bantamweight champion Takuma Inoue of Japan and his compatriot Sho Ishida took place.

The fight, which lasted the full 12 rounds, ended with Inoue winning by unanimous decision.

Inoue, 28, had his previous fight in February 2024, defeating Jerwin Ancajas by knockout in the ninth round. He has 20 wins (five by knockout) and one loss on his record.

Ishida, 32, previously stepped into the ring in December 2024, defeating James Pagalinga by technical knockout in the third round. He has 34 wins (17 by knockout) and four losses on his record.
