Tony Bellew Advises Joe Joyce to Retire from Boxing

British boxer Tony Bellew has advised his fellow countryman, heavyweight Joseph Joyce, to retire from professional boxing.

I don’t think he’ll ever recover from the Zhilei Zhang fight. Joe’s greatest asset has always been his durability—his toughness and ability to absorb punches. But that’s gone now. He’s become too slow, too predictable. I hope Joe walks away because I don’t want to see him get hurt. He’s a lovely man.

Joyce's last fight was against Derek Chisora in July of this year in London. This match went the full distance, and Joseph lost by unanimous decision. He now holds a professional boxing record of 16 wins (15 by knockout) and 3 losses.
