WBO sanctions Josh Taylor vs Teofimo Lopez

The World Boxing Organization (WBO) has sanctioned a world light heavyweight title bout between Josh Taylor and Teofimo Lopez.

It is reported that the boxing teams have 10 days to reach an agreement. Otherwise, an open promotional bidding will take place.

Taylor last fought against Jack Catterall in February 2022. This fight lasted the entire distance and ended in Josh's favor by split decision. He is credited with 19 wins (13 KO's) and no losses.

Lopez had his last fight against Sandor Martin last December. In this fight, which went the full 10 rounds, Teofimo won by split decision. He has 18 wins (13 by knockout) and one defeat.
