Carolina Hurricanes secured NHL playoff spot despite being beaten by the Dallas Stars in overtime (3-4).
This will be the Canes third consecutive appearance in the postseason, a first in Canes history and the first time the franchise has done so since the Hartford Whalers made seven straight trips to the playoffs from 1986-92.
The 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs begin in mid-May. Carolina lost 1-4 to Boston last season in the Stanley Cup playoffs after passing the Rangers in the preliminaries.
