EXCLUSIVE – Rudy Garcia may become new Spartak Moscow head coach

According to Metaratings.ru, one of the main candidates for the head coach of Spartak is Rudy Garcia, who now heads Lyon.

Now Russians are negotiating with a 57-year-old French specialist who also has Spanish citizenship. Sources previously said that Spartak had decided on the candidacy of a new head coach and began negotiations.

Rudy Garcia has led Lyon since October 2019. This season in Ligue 1, the team is in fourth place in the standings, gaining 70 points and six points behind the leading Lille. Lyon is one point away from the Champions League zone. Garcia's contract with the club expires in the summer.

Over the years, Garcia worked as a head coach at Saint-Etienne, Dijon, Le Mans, Roma and Marseille. The specialist spent most of his career at Lille, having played 256 matches as team coach between 2008 and 2013.
