BBC Sport: Adrian Newey Signs Five-Year Contract with Aston Martin

Adrian Newey, one of the most successful engineers in motorsport history, has signed a long-term contract with Aston Martin, lasting five years and potentially worth up to $40 million per year, including bonuses.

BBC Sport reports, citing sources within the team, that an official announcement regarding the deal will be made at a press conference organized by Aston Martin at their base in Silverstone, UK, on Tuesday.

Newey reached an early termination of his contract with Red Bull in April, meaning he will not be involved with the current or future cars of the Austrian team. According to the agreement with Red Bull, he will officially start working with his new team in early March 2025.

It’s worth noting that Aston Martin currently features drivers Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso. Under Newey's guidance, teams have won 12 individual championships and 13 Constructors' Cups.

Previously, CEO of McLaren Zak Brown suggested that Newey might not be the last key figure to leave Red Bull.
