Arthur Leclerc will make his debut with Scuderia Ferrari in the first practice session of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, following the new regulations for Formula 1 in 2024.
According to these rules, each team must field drivers who meet the criteria of "young drivers" or "rookies" in two Friday practice sessions.
These criteria apply to all drivers who have participated in no more than two Grand Prix events in their career, regardless of their age.
Arthur Leclerc, the younger brother of Charles Leclerc, has been chosen to participate. Despite his exit from Ferrari's youth academy at the end of 2023, he remains part of the team.
As a result, Charles and Arthur will become the first brothers in Formula 1 history to compete in an official championship session for the same team as teammates.
Earlier reports informed that Charles has an impressive result in practice for the Grand Prix in Qatar.
