China Issues Lifetime Bans to 38 Players for Match-Fixing and Betting

The Chinese Football Association has imposed lifetime bans on 38 players involved in match-fixing and sports betting activities.

According to Xinhua News Agency, five officials from Chinese clubs also received bans. The investigation, which has been ongoing since 2022, examined 120 matches and involved 41 clubs.

Among those banned for life are several former national team players from China, as well as a South Korean player who participated in the Chinese league. Additionally, 15 players and two club officials received five-year bans from any football-related activities.
