The official website of Real Madrid released a statement regarding the departure of midfielder Eden Hazard, who previously played for the Belgian national team.
It should be recalled that the employment contract of 32-year-old Hazard with the Los Blancos was valid until the end of the season-2023/2024, but the Belgian is considering ending his professional career. Hazard has not yet made a final decision to retire.
Real Madrid Football Club and Eden Hazard have reached an agreement whereby the player will leave the club as of 30 June 2023. Real Madrid would like to express our affection to Eden Hazard and we wish him and his family the best of luck for the next stage of his career.
Hazard played six Primera Liga games for the club in the 2022/2023 season, where he registered only one assist, and three Champions League matches (one goal). As a member of Real Madrid, the midfielder became a two-time La Liga champion (2020, 2022), winner of the Spanish Cup (2023), two-time winner of the Super Cup (2020, 2022), winner of the Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup (2022).
