EPL Referee Coote Under Investigation for Yellow Card Manipulation

The Football Association (FA) in England is conducting an investigation into referee David Coote, who is suspected of violating betting regulations.

According to a report by The Sun, the accusations against Coote pertain to a Championship match (the second tier of English football) between Leeds United and West Bromwich Albion that took place back in October 2019.

Sources claim that prior to the match, Coote discussed with a friend the possibility of issuing a yellow card to Leeds United player Ezgjan Alioski. The player subsequently received a yellow card in the 18th minute of the match.

It's important to note that Coote does not deny having the conversation with his friend but insists that it was a joke and that there was no talk of betting involved.

Additionally, David Coote is currently suspended from officiating following the video appeared in which he insults Liverpool and the club's former manager Jurgen Klopp.
