Former Man Utd Coach McCarthy Takes Over Kenya National Team

Benni McCarthy, a former South African national team player and ex-coach of Manchester United, has been appointed the head coach of the Kenya national team, as reported by the Football Kenya Federation (FKF).

The 47-year-old has signed a two-year contract, with his debut planned for March 19 in an away match against Gambia during the qualifying tournament for the 2026 World Cup.

It is worth noting that McCarthy was part of Erik ten Hag's coaching staff at Manchester United for two seasons. As a head coach, he has previously managed South African clubs Cape Town City and AmaZulu.

In other news, former Manchester United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjær has taken the helm at Turkish club Beşiktaş. Former Barcelona player and Spanish national team member Gerard Piqué has proposed a rule to deduct points from teams if a match ends in a score of 0-0.
