Haaland Reacts to Guardiola's Criticism: Pep Will Not Like Me for Saying This

Manchester City forward Erling Haaland has commented on remarks made by head coach Pep Guardiola, who suggested that the Norwegian should be more active during gameplay.

Haaland joked in an interview with VG:

Erling Haaland
Pep will not like me for saying this, but they don’t need me. I can just stand there and watch.

So far in the current Premier League season, the 24-year-old striker has scored 4 goals in two matches. He netted a goal against Chelsea (2-0) and scored a hat-trick in the game against Ipswich (4-1).

In the upcoming round, Manchester City will play an away match against West Ham on August 31. The game is set to start at 19:30 GMT+3. Currently, City leads the Premier League standings.

Guardiola believes that Haaland can compete in goal-scoring with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, while expressing concerns over the lack of depth in Manchester City's squad.
