Klopp Recalls Liverpool's Loss to Real Madrid in 2021/22 Champions League Final

Former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp reflected on the "Reds'" defeat against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final for the 2021/22 season, which ended in a narrow 1-0 victory for Los Blancos.

Jürgen Klopp
In the 2022 final, Courtois was on fire. In that final, no one will be able to explain to me how we could lose. I’ve never met a team that hasn’t been as affected by periods of pressure as Real Madrid. Real Madrid are a winning machine, especially in the Champions League – it’s crazy.

Klopp said during a podcast with former Real Madrid player Toni Kroos.

The German coach led Liverpool from October 2015 until June 2024, during which time he secured seven trophies for the club. Under Klopp, the "Reds" clinched the UEFA Champions League, Premier League, EFL Cup, FA Cup, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup.

He has been succeeded by Dutch manager Arne Slot, who managed Feyenoord since the summer of 2021.

Earlier, journalist and insider Christian Falk reported that Jürgen Klopp is set to become the new global head of football operations within the Red Bull organization.
