Saudi Arabia's ambassador to the UK, Khalid bin Bandar Al Saud, stated that there will be no alcohol sales during the 2034 World Cup.
Khalid bin Bandar Al Saud, quoted by The Guardian
There’s no alcohol at all. Rather like our weather, it’s a dry country. Everyone has their own culture, and we’re happy to accommodate people within the boundaries of our culture, but we don’t want to change our culture for someone else, OK? And I mean, really, you can’t live without a drink?
Earlier, Saudi Arabia was granted the right to host the tournament after being the only candidate. According to the bid, the event will take place at 15 stadiums across five cities.
