UEFA Suspends Referee David Coote Over Offensive Remarks About Liverpool and Klopp

According to correspondent Rob Harris, the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has suspended British referee David Coote following the release of a controversial video.

The decision to suspend Coote was made immediately after media outlets circulated a video showing the referee making offensive remarks about Liverpool and their former manager Jürgen Klopp.

On November 11, a video surfaced online featuring a man resembling Coote, who was heard insulting Liverpool and making derogatory comments about Klopp, the German coach who previously led the Reds.

It is important to note that if this incident leads to his dismissal, Coote stands to lose a significant amount of money. According to the English press, along with UEFA payments, the referee's estimated earnings over the coming years could have reached around one million pounds sterling.

In addition, former president of Turkish club Ankaragücü, Faruk Koca, has been sentenced to prison following an attack on referee Halil Umut Meler.
