Adesanya: I've Learned A Lot In The Time I've Been Away

Former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya revealed why he decided to take a pause in his professional fighting career inside the world's biggest league.

MMA Mania quotes Adesanya as saying:

The hiatus was definitely needed. Because physically, mentally, even spiritually, I just needed a break from not just the fights but from the training camps and the constant rigmarole we put our bodies through as warriors. I've learned a lot in the time I've been away.

Adesanya will fight Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 305 on August 18.

Adesanya last stepped into the octagon against Sean Strickland in September 2023 at UFC 293. That fight went the full distance and ended in a unanimous decision defeat for Israel. He has 24 wins and three losses on his record.

Du Plessis last fought against Sean Strickland in January of this year at UFC 297. In that fight, Dricus won by split decision. He has 21 wins and two losses on his record.
