Anderson Pulls Out Of Fight With Doumbe Due To Severe Foot Injury Suffered In Traffic Accident

American Bellator welterweight division fighter Derek Anderson suffered a severe leg injury in a traffic accident and has pulled out of his fight with Frenchman Cedric Doumbe. The bout was scheduled to take place on May 17 in Paris and was to be the co-main event of the Bellator Champions Series tournament.

Anderson wrote on social media:

Love you all. Hit and run. I’m so sorry I couldn’t make this fight happen. You have no idea. I will not be getting another bike.

Anderson, 34, last fought in September 2023 at Gladiator Challenge, defeating Ray Parker by submission in the first round. He has 18 wins and four losses on his record.
