Burns Says Strickland Politely Asked Him To Step Aside Before Jumping In To Fight Du Plessis

UFC No. 5 ranked welterweight Gilbert Burns spoke out on his social media regarding the brawl between Sean Strickland and Dricus du Plessis at UFC 296.

Gilbert Burns
I don’t like Strickland's trash talks but DDP call him to fight right there. Sean polite asked us to move before he jumped.

As a reminder, du Plessis and Strickland will fight on January 21 at UFC 297 in Toronto, Canada.

Strickland last stepped into the octagon against Israel Adesanya in September 2023 at UFC 293. That fight lasted the entire distance and ended in favor of Sean by unanimous decision of the judges. He has 28 wins and five losses on his record.
