The commercial damage in Britain and Ireland has been massive with retailers refusing to sell his stout and Proper No 12 whiskey. However the court case has not been as damaging commercially in the United States where most of his fans are standing by him. He wants out of Ireland for the moment and to move back to the States.
Earlier, a court in Dublin found McGregor liable in a civil lawsuit linked to the accusation of raping a woman in December 2018. As a result, the Irish fighter is required to pay €250,000 in compensation, with additional damages totaling $1.5 million.
McGregor's last fight was against American Dustin Poirier in July 2021 at UFC 264, where he lost by technical knockout due to a broken leg. In his mixed martial arts career, he has recorded 22 victories and six losses.
