Covington: On December 16 Edwards Will FInd Out that American Dream Will Break Him

UFC welterweight title challenger Colby Covington has spoken out about his upcoming title fight against Leon Edwards at UFC 296.

Colby Covington
He was just screaming that he deserved a title shot instead of working for a championship shot and earning it like I did. I had to make a difficult road to get to him. Nobody gave me this opportunity on a silver platter. I had to take an unusual route because the direct route was not available. On December 16th he will find out that the American dream will break him.

Covington, 35, last stepped into the octagon against Jorge Masvidal in March 2022 at UFC 272. That fight went the full distance and ended in Colby's favor with a unanimous judges' decision. He has 17 wins and three losses on his record.

Edwards, 32, last fought against Kamaru Usman in March of this year at UFC 286. In that confrontation, Leon won by majority decision of the judges. He has 21 wins and three losses on his record.
