UFC CEO Dana White commented on the desire of the organization's flyweight champion Alex Pereira to try his hand in the heavyweight division.
When you think about him moving up to heavyweight, you got [Jon] Jones, you got [Tom] Aspinall and the list goes on and on in that heavyweight division. The heavyweight division is nasty. I don't know if that's the right move for him. These are all things that we'll talk about for the next 15 Tuesdays. We'll get it figured out.
Recall, on April 14 at UFC 300 Pereira defeated Jamahal Hill by knockout in the first round.
Pereira, 36, had his previous fight in November 2023 at UFC 295, defeating Jiri Prohazka by technical knockout in the second round. He has ten wins and two losses on his record.
Hill, 32, previously stepped into the octagon in January 2023 at UFC 283, defeating Glover Teixeira via unanimous decision. He has 12 wins and two losses on his record.
