Francis Ngannou Dedicates Emotional Victory to Late Son Kobe

Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou spoke out after his victory over Brazilian Renan Ferreira in the main event of the PFL Super Fights: Battle of the Giants tournament.

Ngannou stated after the fight:

I can't think about anything other than my son Kobe. Please remember my son. I hope people remember his name, because without Kobe we wouldn’t be here tonight, I wouldn’t have fought. It has been tough. Not only the training camp but the past few days have been full of emotion. I couldn’t do anything without thinking about it. It’s motivation that I really wish I wouldn’t have had, but, unfortunately, that’s my motivation today.

Ngannou claimed victory over Ferreira by knockout and won the special PFL Superfight belt.

Ngannou's last fight was against Anthony Joshua under boxing rules in March this year. In that bout, which was stopped in the second round, Francis suffered a knockout defeat. His mixed martial arts record stands at 18 wins and three losses.
