Sorry, guys. I wanted to win so bad, but he was better than me in this fight. My congratulations to Sean and his team. I will learn my lesson from this fight and come back stronger as I always have. Thank you all for the support you gave me all week. It was awesome.
Imavov and Strickland fought on January 15 in the main event of UFC Fight Night 217, held in Las Vegas. The judges gave the unanimous decision to Sean.
Imavov, 27, had his previous fight against Joaquin Buckley in September 2022 at UFC Fight Night 209, winning by unanimous decision. He has 12 wins and four losses under his belt.
Strickland, 31, had previously appeared in the Octagon last December at UFC Fight Night 216, losing to Jared Cannonier by split decision. He has 26 wins and five losses under his belt.
