Irish Police To Check McGregor For Hate Speech

Conor McGregor, the former UFC double champion, will be checked by the Irish police for incitement to hatred, reports The Sunday Times.

According to the source, the fighter's social media posts, where Conor commented on the migration crisis in the country, were the reason for this. McGregor demanded the creation of a "brand new task force" that would control people entering Ireland. He wrote this in response to a knife attack on a childcare provider and three children in Parnell Square in central Dublin.

The fighter demanded change in the country and criticized the current Irish government, listing a number of crimes allegedly committed by immigrants against Irish citizens, and warned that if the government "do not act soon with their plan of action to ensure Ireland's safety" he will take it upon himself to do so.

McGregor, 35, last fought against Dustin Poirier in July 2021 at UFC 264. In that confrontation, Conor was defeated by technical knockout after breaking his leg. He has 22 wins and six losses on his record.
